A wonderful example of a Victorian mourning brooch, ornately decorated with scrolls and carved black and white agate.

The reverse of the brooch reveals a glass fronted panel with a lock of hair and bears the inscription, "David Hall, 4th Sept 1884"

Measuring 55mm x 39mm, the brooch fastens with sturdy metal pin.  The brooch has no markings so we have tested the gold and our team of goldsmiths and valuers agree that it is 18ct carat gold.
